Indigenous Bar Association, MMIWG advocates glad coercion laws coming

One of the most significant changes is the criminalization of the act of coercion in a relationship – still yet to be enacted. While most of the reforms are now in law, the coercion reform will come into effect at a later date after proper training has been undertaken by law enforcement agencies and court officers.
