NetApp solutions validated to support VCF 9.1, giving mutual customers access to a modern private cloud with enterprise-grade data management, cyber resilience, and cost-efficient scaling
SAN JOSE, Calif. — NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP), the Intelligent Data Infrastructure company, announced new capabilities in NetApp ONTAP® have been tested and validated to support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.1, giving customers an optimized and secure data infrastructure foundation for their private and hybrid clouds. By combining the advanced capabilities of VCF 9.1 with cost-effective and enterprise data management with built-in security features from NetApp, including safeguarding data against ransomware attacks with rapid recovery, mutual customers can lower costs and accelerate the deployment of their AI software into production.
VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 provides enterprises with a unified private cloud platform for running both traditional and modern workloads. NetApp’s solutions are tested and validated to support VCF 9.1 environments, enabling mutual customers to immediately begin taking advantage of VCF 9.1 innovations when they upgrade, with a data infrastructure layer already proven to work with the new release.
To fully leverage their data on their own terms, customers need to unify their data estates across on-premises and hybrid or multicloud environments. NetApp first-party cloud storage services are the only external enterprise storage certified to support VMware Cloud Foundation environments across the major hyperscale clouds, giving customers the flexibility to adapt as their needs change. With entitlement through VCF license portability, customers can deploy VMware Cloud Foundation in certified hyperscaler environments and run their VMware workloads on VCF in the cloud without refactoring.
“To keep up with the rapid pace of innovation required to thrive in a competitive landscape, enterprises need flexibility to move and place workloads in the best environment to which they are suited,” said Alvaro Celis, Chief Partner and Ecosystem Officer at NetApp. “NetApp continues to innovate to ensure VCF customers can operate consistently and without disruption across cloud environments. Together with Broadcom, we are giving organizations the autonomy to optimize, protect, and scale their virtualized environments across any cloud on their own terms, safeguarding their existing operational…
