A church in south Edmonton was damaged by smoke and flooding after a nearby fire Saturday.
Crews responded to a fire in the area of 114 Street and 40 Avenue around 5:40 a.m. The fire was declared under control at approximately 2 p.m. No injuries were reported and there were no major evacuations, confirmed Edmonton Fire and Rescue Services.
It was reported to CTV News Edmonton that the neighbouring Dayspring Presbyterian Church sustained some smoke damage and flooding in the basement, but the full extent of the damage won’t be known until Monday or Tuesday.
