Prime Minister Mark Carney and the official Leader of the Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, exchanged barbs over the Liberal government's spring economic update on Wednesday. Poilievre compared Carney to former prime minister Justin Trudeau, saying that Carney's budget projects a $65 billion deficit, more than Justin Trudeau's government, stating that Trudeau's was "$31 billion." – Apr 29, 2026
