Three people were killed and three others were injured when a car plowed through worshippers leaving a mosque in San Diego early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The attack took place outside Masjid Al-Noor, an Islamic centre on 34th Street near Garnet Avenue in the city’s southeastern area. The shooting began about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when one of two men opened fire from a vehicle, according to police.
Moments later, the car drove into a group of people walking outside the mosque. Police said they are still investigating if the car crash was part of the same incident or a separate event.
