A woman is being listed as a missing person after her vehicle plunged into the Thompson River in Kamloops on Saturday evening.
The vehicle went over the embankment and into the water near Waterfront Park around 6 p.m. The driver was not seen and search crews were unable to locate her, leading police to presume she had drowned.
“Crews searched the river for a significant period of time with divers and underwater equipment, but did not locate the female subject,” said Cpl. David Sirois with the RCMP in Kamloops. “The investigation into this incident is ongoing.”
