A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southern China on Friday, killing at least two people and triggering an emergency evacuation for more than 7,000 residents.
The quake was centered near Zhao'an County in Fujian Province, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It hit just before midnight local time (15:36 UTC), with a depth of about 10 kilometers.
