In the spirit of improving the living quarters for our country's leaders, I wholeheartedly agree with the call to modernize and enhance 24 Sussex Drive. However, this renovation should maintain the essence of what makes Ottawa’s official residence distinct from its American counterpart. The Canadian Prime Minister is not the President of the United States; we are a parliamentary democracy where power is shared among multiple branches.
