OTTAWA—With a federal election looming and with a new government in Alberta, the timing is right for Canada’s energy sector to get clarity on key policy issues.
Speaking at a conference in Toronto, Natural Resources Minister Seamus O’Regan Jr. made it clear that he wants to see more investment in the industry, but said that will only happen if Ottawa and provinces work together to provide a stable regulatory environment. “We have to give investors confidence,” Mr. O’Regan said.
