Article Excerpt
Hyundai has announced a recall for thousands of hybrid vehicles in Canada because a component in the hybrid system could overheat and increase the risk of a fire.
The recall notice, posted by Transport Canada on May 14 and updated May 28, said a problem in the hybrid power control unit, or HPCU, could cause the unit to overheat.
The notice warned the issue could prevent the vehicle from starting or cause it to enter a reduced-power mode while the malfunction indicator lamp is illuminated.
