When Fort Simpson was evacuated because of a nearby wildfire, Diedra Villeneuve and Derek Mckillop chose to stay to feed the pets residents had to leave behind.
“We are not leaving. We are going to make sure one way or another that these dogs get fed, get water. We are here to help them,” said Mckillop.
