QMJHL: Cape Breton Eagles officially acquire goaltender from Chicoutimi Saguenéens

The Cape Breton Eagles officially acquired goaltender Jordan Rittenberg from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for an eighth-round pick in 2028. JEREMY FRASER/CAPE BRETON POST Jeremy Fraser The Cape Breton Eagles have added to their goaltending depth for the 2026-27 Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League season. Cape Breton officially acquired netminder Jordan Rittenberg from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for an eighth-round pick in 2028, originally belonging to the Charlottetown Islanders. The 18-year-old joined the Eagles for their rookie camp last month and earned a spot at the club’s main training camp. The Halifax product will provide the Sydney-based team with a solid third option between the pipes. The Eagles are expected to start the season with Lucas Beckman and Sam Berthiaume. Rittenberg spent last season with Salisbury School in the United States. His statistics were not available at publication time.
