Article content On Sunday afternoon, Rich Eyram finished his final ride of the 7,700-kilometre trek that started in British Columbia by dipping his bike into the Atlantic Ocean off Black Rock Beach in Point Pleasant Park. Article content Article content Article content As Rich Eyram finished, he said the enormity of the journey took his breath away. Article content “I rode 105 kilometres today, and I was thinking about what I was going to feel like at the finish line. As soon as I saw people, heard the bagpiper, and saw the Kids Help Phone signage, all those emotions just flooded out, and I was in tears,” said Eyram. “I am very proud of what we’ve just done. The ride and the impact, and the love and support we received.” Article content The Eyrams’ Live A Great Story journey began on May 31 in Vancouver. There were several challenging legs, with the Nova Scotia finish among the most difficult. Article content “Yesterday (Saturday) was pretty difficult, but I wouldn’t say there was a single most difficult leg,” said Eyram. “The mountains were tough for their own reasons. There was one stretch that was 31 kilometres straight uphill called Paulson Pass (in British Columbia). There were incredible winds in southern Alberta; there was heat coming out of Manitoba and into northern Ontario that was caused by all the forest fires.
