Featured below are companies that have experienced recent insider trading activity in the public market through their direct and indirect ownerships, including accounts they have control or direction over. The list features insider transaction activity; it does not convey total ownership information as an insider may hold numerous accounts. Keep in mind, when looking at transaction activities by insiders, purchasing activity may reflect perceived value in a security. Selling activity may or may not be related to a stock’s valuation; perhaps an insider needs to raise money for personal reasons. An insider’s total holdings should be considered because a sale may, in context, be insignificant if this person has a large remaining position in the company. I tend to put great weight on insider transaction activity when I see multiple insiders trading a company’s shares or units. Listed below are four stocks that have had recent selling activity in the public market reported by insiders. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM-T +2.20% increase ) On Sept. 2, Merfyn Roberts, who sits on the board of directors, sold 1,500 shares at a price per share of $273.35, leaving 16,182 shares in this particular account. Proceeds from the sale exceeded $410,000, not including commission charges. ARC Resources Ltd. (ARX-T +0.71% increase ) On Sept. 1, Sean Calder, vice president of field operations, sold 10,000 shares at a price per share of $33.89, after which this particular account did not hold any shares. Proceeds from the sale exceeded $338,000, not including trading fees. Faraco International SA (FAR-T +0.35% increase ) On Sept. 9, director Daniel Simoncini , sold 2,000,000 shares at a price per share of $3.02, reducing the holdings in this particular account to 8,571,225 shares. Proceeds from the sale totaled more than $6-million, not including commission charges. IMAX Corp. (IMAX-N +1.44% increase ) On Sept. 10, chief legal officer Robert Lister sold 22,500 shares at a price per share of US$51.5812, leaving 182,375 shares in this particular account.
