Article content King is the new chief executive officer of techNL, having taken over the position on Aug. 10, 2026, after the departure of her predecessor Florian Villaumé in July. Article content Article content Article content After more than a decade in international finance, she served as chief executive officer of State 23 Media, as director of media and government relations at Nasdaq Verafin, and, most recently, co-founded an AI startup. Article content King is a co-founder and managing partner of the Women’s Equity Lab Atlantic Investment Group, focused on increasing access to capital for women founders while growing the number of women investors. She serves as a mentor with Creative Destruction Lab, an investor with Sandpiper Ventures and is an advisor to growth-stage technology companies. Article content She is also on the board of the Innovation and Business Investment Corporation, contributing to the advancement of innovation and economic development in Newfoundland and Labrador. Article content King inherits the helm of an organization that represents one of Canada’s most promising provincial sector stories. According to techNL, Newfoundland and Labrador’s tech sector employs around 10,000 people and contributes nearly $1.9 billion annually to the provincial economy and those numbers are growing significantly and quickly.
