Article content Hannah Flynn almost had an unwelcome visitor last week when a black bear came right up on her front porch and looked in the front door of her Pasadena home. Article content Flynn lives at the top of Pine Avenue. Article content Article content “There’s no houses on the other side of us. We basically live in the woods until the road is extended,” she told The Telegram on Monday, Sept. 14. Article content The location, she said, is the perfect spot for a bear. Article content Article content On Sept. 7, Flynn said her husband had cooked burgers on their barbeque. Article content “So, I’m thinking he was kind of close to the woods and smelled it and decided to come for a look a little later that evening. I can’t blame him; they smelled really good,” she said with a laugh. Article content The bear’s visit, just after midnight, was caught on a security camera. Article content In a video that her husband, Paul Flynn, shared on Facebook, the bear can be seen going off with bags of garbage, including the bags they used for disposing their children’s diapers. Article content Flynn figures he got into about six bags of garbage. Article content She said they were in the living room area at the time and “never heard a thing.” Article content Their dog, who is big and protective, also didn’t alert them to the unwelcome visitor. Article content When Flynn looked at the security videos more closely, she was shocked to see how close to the house the bear had been. Article content “He was stood right up at our front door, like looking in our front door. He could have literally came in with us,” she said.
