RNC Article content A 32-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault following an attack on another man at the Valley Mall in Corner Brook on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026. Article content In a news release issued on Tuesday, Sept. 15, the RNC said Gregg Musakanda, who is a resident of the city, is also facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguised with intent and break and enter. Article content Article content Article content The release says the RNC responded to a report of a stabbing at a business on Mount Bernard Avenue at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Article content The release doesn’t identify the business, but social media reports have said the incident occurred at Downtown Entertainment, which is located on the upper level of the Valley Mall in the same area as Sobeys. The business is only accessible from outside the mall. Article content The 37-year-old male victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Article content Police say Musakanda, who was identified as the suspect, fled the area on foot before they arrived. Article content At the time, the RNC issued a public advisory on Facebook of an increased police presence in the Valley Road, Wellington Street and Mount Bernard Avenue area.
