PHOTO BY TINA COMEAU Article content A lobster dealer from southwestern Nova Scotia is back behind bars for the second time since he got bail July 17 on a slew of charges laid by RCMP last year following a 13-month undercover investigation. Article content Eric David Thibault, 67, of Little Brook, Digby County, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of criminal harassment and one of breaching bail. Article content Article content Thibault was arraigned virtually before a justice of the peace Saturday and remanded until Thursday, when he’s scheduled to have a bail hearing on the new charges in Digby provincial court. Article content Article content RCMP allege Thibault committed the offences between July 30 and Sept. 11 of this year. Article content An RCMP news release Tuesday said the Meteghan detachment received a complaint from a woman Friday at about 3:15 p.m. that a man had had unwanted conduct with her numerous times by attending various places, including her workplace. Article content Officers located and arrested Thibault later that day, at about 9 p.m. Article content One of the charges alleges Thibault harassed the woman by repeatedly communicating with her, either directly or indirectly. Article content The other harassment charge accuses Thibault of “besetting or watching” places associated with the woman. Article content Thibault was one of four men charged in November 2025 in an RCMP operation called Project Hammertime. When police announced the arrests, they said Thibault was the leader of a crime ring in the Clare region. Article content “These individuals, through their criminal activities and intimidation tactics, behaved like they owned Clare,” RCMP Supt. Jason Popik said in a news release.
