The action This spring, a homeowning couple looking for a larger property combed through 40 to 50 detached houses with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, primarily in a community south of Square One mall in Mississauga, Ont. One of their favourite homes was this four-bedroom house, listed for $1,449,000 when they first saw it, and reduced to $1.425-million the next month. As they were compiling their offer, another buyer submitted their own offer, which the seller quickly accepted. “I showed them this property four times because they were not sure if they should go with it or not,” said the buyers’ agent Pradip Nag. “It was bad luck another offer came in.” Fortunately for Mr. Nag’s clients, their rivals failed to waive a condition on their offer, giving them a second chance.
