CONTRIBUTED Article content A Nova Scotia woman wants Newfoundlanders to know just how grateful her family is for the outpouring of care and support they’ve received following an unimaginable tragedy. Article content On Sept. 11, 43-year-old Charlie Morrison of Sydney, N.S., died in a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near St. Judes, a small community on the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Deer Lake, NL. Article content Article content Article content He was on the way to Gros Morne National Park with his son, CJ Morrison. Article content CJ, 13, was seriously injured in the collision and was taken to hospital in Corner Brook. He’s since been transferred to the IWK in Halifax, where doctors are further assessing his injuries. Article content Charlie’s wife, Kelly Morrison, and daughter, Ava, were at home in Sydney at the time. Article content Father-son trip Article content Kelly’s cousin, Shannon Reid of Sydney Mines, N.S., said the trip to Newfoundland had been something CJ wanted to do. Article content “Charlie had just come home from out west two days prior, coming home from work, and they must have had a discussion about it beforehand, because it was all planned before he came home,” Reid told The Telegram on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
