RNC Article content The lawyer representing the man who stabbed another man at a business in the Valley Mall in Corner Brook on Monday, Sept. 14, said he may file an application to give his client access to his cellphone. Article content Gregg Musakanda, 32, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and break and enter. Article content Article content Article content The attack occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, and Musakanda was arrested at around 7 p.m. at a residence on Valley Road. Article content While the business where the stabbing occurred has not been officially identified, reports on social media say it happened at Downtown Entertainment, a used movies and video games store. The store is located on the upper level of the mall on the same side of the building as Sobeys. The only access to the store is from an outside entrance. Article content The victim of the attack, a 37-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Article content In a Facebook post, the man said that he had been stabbed five times, suffering wounds to his neck, shoulder, side, stomach and lower back. Article content The last slash to his lower back came as he was crawling out of the store. He said he was doing OK and would be all right. Article content A picture circulating on social media and later shared by the RNC allegedly shows Musakanda outside the mall, dressed in black and wearing a long coat and mask. He was also holding an open umbrella over his head.
