Article content Dwyer, from Stratford, P.E.I., is the general manager and head coach of the Regiment, which is entering its second season in St. John’s after relocating from Bathurst, N.B. Article content Article content “We’re definitely excited to get started and really try to build off our success from last season, not only on the ice but in the community and really building a brand and a fan base,” Dwyer told The Guardian in a phone interview. “We’re really excited to get back in front of our fans here in St. John’s and take that next step as a team and as an organization.” Article content Article content The Regiment is coming off a strong first season on the Rock and compiled an 80-point regular season on the strength of a 38-22-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses) record. Article content “Like every year, there are always expectations on your group, and we’re really pleased with the core group returning and a lot of the young talent that we’ve acquired that are going to make their first steps in our league,” said Dwyer. “In junior hockey, you’re going to graduate players and we’re proud of the players that we’ve graduated from our program last season that moved onto the next level.” Article content Dwyer said as players move on, it opens opportunities for other players to take the next step.
