PHOTO BY DIANE CROCKER/THE TELEGRAM Article content Gregg Musakanda did not speak when he appeared via Zoom in provincial court in Corner Brook on Monday, Sept. 21. Article content Musakanda, 32, who court documents identify as residing in Corner Brook, was charged on Sept. 14, following a violent knife attack on the owner of Downtown Entertainment in the Valley Mall. Article content Article content It’s alleged that Musakanda stabbed Doug Payne five times. Article content Article content He’s charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and break and enter. The break and enter charge is in relation to a residence on Valley Road in the area where Musakanda was arrested. Article content During Monday’s appearance, Jill Quilty of Brothers Law informed the court that her office would be representing Musakanda during his bail hearing. Article content Until then, he had been represented by Legal Aid. Article content Quilty asked for the matter to be called again on Tuesday, Sept. 22, for status and possibly setting a time for the bail hearing.
