Article content Halifax RCMP have charged a man for hate-motivated threats made toward a youth in Middle Sackville.  Article content Police were called Sept. 17 about an incident the day before. They said in a news release that on the evening of Sept. 16 the youth was a passenger in a vehicle parked on Midnight Run when a man came up and tried to pull him from the car.  Article content Article content The driver fled and the man followed in another vehicle. Police allege he was driving dangerously while continuing to make threats toward the youth during a cellphone conversation with the driver.  Article content Police also allege the investigation showed the man’s actions were hate-motivated.   Article content Matthew Michael Jones, 21, who police identified as a resident of HRM, was arrested Sept. 18 and charged with three counts of uttering threats and one each of dangerous driving and criminal harassment.  Article content Jones appeared in Dartmouth provincial court that day and was released on conditions.  He is scheduled to return to court Oct. 22.   Article content Article content Advertisement 1 This advertisement has not loaded yet.
