Article content Const. Peter Kelly was charged in June following an investigation by SIRT-NL (Serious Incident Response Team of Newfoundland and Labrador). Article content Article content The incident is alleged to have occurred on Nov. 10, 2025, while Kelly was on duty. Article content Kelly wasn’t present when the charge was called in provincial court on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Article content Iain Hollett appeared via teleconference on behalf of Kelly’s lawyer, Stephen Orr. Article content Hollett told the court that Kelly was pleading not guilty to the charge. Article content His trial has been set for Feb. 4 and 5, 2027. Article content Kelly is currently on administrative duty.
