PHOTO BY AIDAN RAWDING /Truro News Article content TRURO – Truro Police Service are investigating after two park spaces in Ward 3 were recently vandalized with graffiti.  Article content Herb Peppard Park and the Wood Street entrance of Victoria Park were damaged overnight on Sept. 15, said Chief Dave MacNeil. Article content Article content Pictures of the graffiti at the top of Wood Street were posted on Reddit and Facebook. Article content Some graffiti at the Wood Street entrance included offensive language and imagery. There was graffiti on the side of the public bathrooms, the pavilion, the interpretive map, and the tower viewer at the lookoff area. Article content Article content The words “F–k Wood St” were sprayed on the side of the public bathroom in the parking lot. Article content Amanda Scott, a Truro resident living in Ward 3, said she found out about the graffiti at the top of Wood Street through Facebook. Article content Amanda Scott, a Truro resident who lives in Ward 3, said she found out about the Wood Street entrance graffiti on Facebook. Article content Scott said she, her husband, and their son helped clean the area. Article content “I wasn’t surprised, of course, but I just saw how upset the community was,” said Scott, when asked her reaction to the graffiti. Article content “There was a lot of comments on (the post), and I figured well, we’re right there. Let’s just step up and clean it.” Article content MacNeil said a suspect has been identified through the investigation and there is evidence to suggest the two graffiti incidents are related.
