Article content The two-storey building will be located on Legends Avenue in the Millbrook Power Centre off Highway 102. Work is underway at the site, and the building is scheduled to be finished by August 2027. Article content Article content Hayley Forbes, business development officer for Millbrook First Nation, said Plaza 2 is a big step for the band’s economy. Article content Article content “We try to make all of our own source revenue as much as we can, so kind of getting on our own two feet,” said Forbes. Article content “So, I think that definitely helps towards it, because the leaseholds and the tenants in our Power Centre are a big part of that.” Article content The ground floor of Plaza 2 will be 14,000 square feet while the second floor will be roughly 13,500 square feet. Article content Millbrook First Nation and Lindsay Construction recently broke ground at the site for Plaza 2 on Legends Avenue at the Millbrook Power Centre. These businesses include a yoga and fitness studio, an ice cream shop, and four administrative offices. Forbes said there will also be an indoor playground in the building. Article content “The strong leasing interest in Plaza 2 speaks to the confidence businesses have in this community and its future,” Millbrook First Nation Chief Bob Gloade said in a news release.
