Diane Crocker/THE TELEGRAM Article content Dean Penney is arguing that the evidence from the Mr. Big operation that resulted in his conviction for the murder of his estranged wife, Jennifer Hillier-Penney, should be found inadmissible and that he should be found not guilty. Article content In a notice of appeal filed with the Appeal Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in St. John’s on Sept. 23, Penney says the evidence obtained should not have been provided to the jury. Article content Article content “There was no other evidence to support a conviction,” wrote Penney in notice of appeal seeking to appeal both his conviction and sentence. Article content Convicted of first-degree murder on May 24 in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years on Sept. 11.
