PHOTO BY FILE /Truro News Article content TRURO – The Truro Police Service has charged a 13-year-old boy following an investigation into local property damage. Article content The youth has been charged with four counts of mischief under $5,000 under the Criminal Code of Canada. The incident involved damage to property at two public parks and two businesses overnight on Sept. 15. Article content Article content Herb Peppard Park and the Wood Street entrance of Victoria Park were damaged with graffiti overnight on Sept. 15, and have since been cleaned. Article content Some graffiti at the Wood Street entrance included offensive language and imagery. There was graffiti on the side of the public bathrooms, the pavilion, the interpretive map, and the tower viewer at the lookoff area. Article content The accused was released from police custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in youth court in October. Article content Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, no further information identifying the young person can be released.
