Article content Article content The inaugural Ager (pronounced Age-er) Lane Harvest Market is being held this weekend featuring craft makers, live music, a Jamaican food truck and a mixed flower u-pick. Article content Article content The theme of the market is “To grow is to hope and to hope is to grow.” Article content During the COVID-19 pandemic, two entrepreneurs and life partners moved across the country from Vancouver Island to a small farm they bought in 2022 to begin a dream of making a living through floriculture and flower-themed events. Article content A lot has happened in the past four years. Percy and Clary Ager are building Ager Lane Flower Farm and Event Space bigger and better every year. They began a wedding venue business in addition to a u-pick flower site; they were the first couple to be married on the farm; and their family has grown to include a baby daughter. Article content Recently, the couple was nominated for a 2026 Cape Breton Excellence in Business Award. The award is sponsored by the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce and will be handed out in November.
