Article content Police investigators in Delta and Abbotsford are dealing with two vehicle-related shootings. Article content The first occurred just after 11 p.m. on Saturday night in the 2500-block of McCallum Road in Abbotsford, when a vehicle was shot at by occupants of another vehicle. Article content Article content “Preliminary information indicates that individuals in a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at the victim vehicle,” said Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Article content Walker said that shortly after the shooting, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on the 2400-block of Sunnyside Place, where an SUV was fully engulfed in flames. Article content “The major crime unit has assumed conduct of the investigation and is working to determine the motive for the shooting and whether the vehicle fire is connected to the incident,” Walker said. “Early indications suggest that this incident was targeted.” Article content The second incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, when police were called to the 10600-block of 64th Avenue with reports of shots fired near the Hwy 91 on-ramp. Article content “A victim was located at scene with a minor, non-life-threatening injury and was subsequently transported to hospital in stable condition,” said Delta Police Department spokesperson Staff Sgt. Mike Whiteley. Article content He said that police are looking for a grey Kia Forte, which was driven from the area before police arrived. Article content “Police believe this is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public,” Whiteley said.
