Article content The company “has reached a negotiated, tentative agreement with Unifor Locals 111 and 2200, with the assistance of mediator Trevor Sones,” said CMBC president and general manager Michael McDaniel in a statement. Article content Article content “The agreement follows months of intensive bargaining, and extensive discussions between the parties. After sustained efforts to work through the outstanding issues, the parties were able to reach an agreement that provides additional detail around recovery and running time, while remaining consistent with the framework established with other public sector unions,” McDaniel said. Article content Article content The union’s joint bargaining committee said the agreement was presented by the mediator as the bus company’s “best and final package,” and ratification vote will be held soon. Article content The unions issued strike notice in mid-August and started limited job action, including a uniform ban, while talks were underway. But no service days were lost during the labour dispute. Article content Local 111 represents more than 4,000 bus drivers for the TransLink subsidiary that delivers transit service throughout Metro Vancouver, while Local 2200 represents about 1,100 skilled trades workers and support staff.
