In pictures: See who made a splash at Yellowknife’s mud run

Share More than 475 participants got muddy at the Yellowknife Ski Club on Saturday for the 2026 CIBC Mud Run.  Participants tackled about 25 obstacles across the three and five-kilometre courses, including a roughly 100-foot water obstacle. Recent rain added even more water and mud to the trails. The event brought together families, friends, school groups and teams. Some children completed the course more than once, while teams dressed up and competed for fundraising and best-dressed prizes.  The Mud Run supports the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation’s Run for Our Lives campaign, which is aiming to raise $600,000 for four pieces of cancer-related equipment at Stanton Territorial Hospital.  Advertisement. Patty Olexin-Lang, the foundation’s executive director, said the event has a strong family atmosphere and relies on months of preparation from volunteers and organizers.  With plenty of mud, water and obstacles standing between participants and the finish line, getting dirty was all part of the fun.
