Photo: Olivia Patterson Photo Share Up Here Publishing and Bluebell Eatery each received five nominations as the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce issued the shortlists for its 2026 business awards. The two were the leaders, by volume, among a total of 97 nominations across 11 categories. Winners will be announced at a gala on October 24. Firms are nominated by the public, after which they have the right to accept or decline each nomination. Winners of a category cannot enter it again for the subsequent two years. This year, the category of non-profit of the year has been added to the list. Seven non-profits are up for the award. Advertisement. Advertisement. Eight companies – Bella Dance Academy, Camp Light Bookkeeping, Corothers Home Hardware, ECEN Immigration Services, J&R Mechanical, Nourish North, Oak & Olive and Quality Furniture – were each nominated across four categories. Judges decided who ultimately wins most of the awards. A people’s choice award, also known as the customer service award of excellence, is decided by online vote, which will run from October 1-14.
