Article content Article content “It’s definitely been a goal of mine to come play here and be a part of the team,” Worth told The Guardian in a phone interview following the Islanders’ 6-2 title-clinching win over the Chatham Ironmen in Game 5 of the best-of-seven final series on Sept. 20. “It’s really nice to be a part of the win, and a part of the group and be here with all these guys.” Article content Article content The Islanders defeated the Ironmen 6-2 on Sept. 19 in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead. Article content National championship Article content As NBSBL champions, the Islanders will return to the Baseball Canada senior men’s national championship in Edmonton in August 2027 as the New Brunswick representative. Article content The Islanders won the 2025 Canadian championship in Regina and were eliminated in extra innings of their final round-robin game against British Columbia at the 2026 nationals in Miramichi, N.B.
