Article content Ottawa Fire Services, in a social media post, stated that at 5:24 p.m. on Sept. 20 it took a 911 call from someone at a two-and-a-half storey multi-unit residential building in the 100 block of Lockhart, with the caller telling them a person was trapped in an apartment and that there was heavy smoke on the top floor. Article content Article content Article content After arriving at the location, crews found a resident who had managed to get out of the “fire unit”, but the person told firefighters another individual remained inside. Article content The man still in the apartment was found with no vital signs, and he was quickly brought outside where CPR and other life-saving measures were started, Ottawa fire said. Article content “Firefighters successfully restored the patient’s pulse and breathing,” the post stated. Article content Resuscitation was required at the scene and on the way to hospital, an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson told the Ottawa Citizen on Monday night. Article content One adult male was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition due to smoke inhalation, another adult male had suffered minor smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital in stable condition, and an “elderly” male suffering from minor smoke inhalation was treated at the scene and released, the spokesperson said.
