(Photo by Corey Larocque) By Corey Larocque The Kivalliq Region’s talents were on full display Tuesday at Rankin Inlet’s community hall, where about 300 attendees took in the Kivalliq Trade Show’s entertainment night. The event featured a fashion show of Inuit clothing by designers from the region. Fashion show host Lucy Makkigak said the designs highlight the work, skill and creativity of designers from across the region. Musical performers Colleen Nakashuk, who performs as Aasiva, and Rankin Inlet’s own Christine Piungualaq Tootoo, who was nominated for a Juno award this year, took the stage after the fashion show. The trade show’s entertainment night fell on the second day of the three-day event, which wraps up Wednesday night with a gala dinner for participants.
