And 17 of them are located in Metro Vancouver. Article content Modern Chinese eatery Mott 32, which has locations in Vancouver and Toronto, took the top spot on this year’s Elite 30 list. The annual assemblage aims to recognize “outstanding” Chinese and Taiwanese restaurants across the country. Article content “This year, we wanted the awards to give diners a fuller picture of Chinese dining across Canada,” Rae Kung, CEO of the Chinese Restaurant Awards, says. “The Elite 30 recognizes the restaurants, regional cuisines, and dishes worth discovering across the country.” Article content Selected by a 21-member panel, chaired by founding judge Lee Man, the list of restaurants are judged first on flavour as well as overall dining experience, according to the awards organizers. Article content Revealed during an awards ceremony at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver on Wednesday, the Elite 30 list included other top placings by local restaurants, including: Dynasty Seafood Restaurant, Landmark Hotpot House, and Bamboo Grove in Richmond.
