Article content Police said that they responded to a 9-1-1 call for a home invasion at 9:50 p.m. on Birch Road in the downtown area. Article content Article content Two suspects allegedly forced their way into the home through a back door while the residents were inside. Article content Police said the suspects allegedly stole multiple items from the home before fleeing the scene. Article content Article content They said one resident was injured after being struck with a crowbar while trying to confront one of the suspects. Article content While the Wood Buffalo RCMP have been unable to confirm if the victim and suspects were known to each other, investigators are in the area conducting neighbourhood inquiries. Article content The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the two suspects, who were described as a white male and a black male around six feet and two inches tall with a slender build. Article content The two men were said to be wearing black clothing and had their faces covered at the time of the incident. Article content An investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who may have; video surveillance or dash-cam footage, been near Birch Road around the time, or witnessed suspicious activity in the neighbourhood to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP.
