Article content In a release shared last week, council said the newly appointed board will oversee all planning, coordination, and delivery elements for the games, highlighting that the appointed members boast a wide range of local expertise across the region. Article content The 2028 Alberta Summer Games is anticipated to draw around 2,800 participants. Thousands of young athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across the province will arrive in Fort McMurray to celebrate sports and culture in the community. Article content This will be the fourth time Fort McMurray has hosted the provincial games, marking ten years since the region hosted the 2018 Alberta Winter Games.
