Calgary Real Estate Board statistics revealed Cochrane, High River, Strathmore and Canmore saw year-over-year sales increases in August. Article content That did not translate into gains in the benchmark price for all communities. While Cochrane’s sales grew about 34 per cent versus August last year, its benchmark price fell about two per cent to $570,200. Article content Article content Article content High River experienced a more than 29 per cent increase in year-over-year sales, but its benchmark price dropped about one per cent to $499,100. Article content In contrast, Strathmore’s benchmark price grew two per cent to $448,400 while sales were up nearly 18 per cent from August last year. Article content Canmore also saw price growth with its benchmark rising less than one per cent to $1,106,200. Its sales grew more than 39 per cent in August, year over year. Article content Airdrie, Chestermere and Okotoks experienced declines in sales and benchmark pricing. Article content In Okotoks, sales fell almost two per cent, while the benchmark price dropped nearly two per cent to $608,400. Article content Sales in Chestermere were off more than five per cent year over year, while the benchmark price decreased nearly two per cent to $697,400.
