Article content According to Elections Alberta, as of Thursday, more than 330,000 have been mailed to electors and more than 24,000 special ballots have been returned and approved. Article content Article content After several voters flagged issues with their packages, such as missing ballots, the agency has identified a total of 313 special ballot packages that were affected and said new replacement packages were issued. It said a production issue was identified and resolved. Article content Article content “Issues with addressing, typos, and other errors in electors’ applications have delayed approval of approximately 7,200 applications,” the agency said in a Friday press release. Article content “Elections Alberta is working to identify and correct these errors to ensure special ballots are delivered to the correct recipient at the correct address, and Elections Alberta may contact electors directly to resolve those issues.” Article content Article content The deadline to apply for a special ballot is Sept. 25. Starting Sept. 21, electors who’ve applied for a special ballot may pick it up from their local returning office. These voters are asked to wait until they are contacted to pick up their ballot at the requested location.
