Article content Just before 11:10 a.m. officers were dispatched to a shooting that took place on 50th Avenue, near 47 Street, said police in a news release. Article content Article content Emergency crews attended, but the man died on scene. Article content In a Wednesday media release, Alberta RCMP identified the man as 22-year-old Nolan Whitestone, of Lloydminster. Article content Article content The Alberta RCMP major crimes unit took over the investigation and canvassed the area for video footage and information from any witnesses. Lysohirka has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Whitestone, and police say a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Article content Alberta RCMP Corp. Mathew Howell told Postmedia earlier this week that both men were seen having an altercation outside and had a “confrontation on foot” when the shooting occurred. Article content Lysohirka is described as having a light complexion, five-foot-seven inches tall and 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Article content “He was known to police, and with the help from the public, and being able to speak with witnesses, we were able to identify him quite quickly,” said Howell, in a phone call with Postmedia on Wednesday. Article content Howell said Lysohirka is still at large, and if anyone does come in contact with him, police are asking the public to not approach him.
