Article content Between June 13 and 15, an unknown person broke into a home located along the 4000 block of Vegas Way N.W. and stole 20 3D printers and accessories worth more than $20,000, said Staff Sgt. Ray Kelly. Article content Article content “Sometime after the break and enter, the victim reported to police that they located the printers online,” Kelly said. “As a result of this, the detectives were engaged.” Article content Article content On Aug. 18, Calgary police executed a search warrant on a home along the 4700 block of Dalton Drive N.W., where 17 3D printers were recovered along with six spools of printer filament. Article content “The victim knew that these were his printers, as he had every printer marked,” Kelly said. “So whenever he saw the pictures online, he was able to say that each one actually was his printer.” Article content Police are unsure why the victim owned such a large amount of 3D printers, but believe that they were not being used in any malicious way.
