Article content Not only will it end the longest gap between visits (the Foos last performed here in 2018), but the Commonwealth Stadium concert will be a full-circle moment for the band, as its first performance in the city was as part of the 1998 Edgefest festival at the stadium. Article content Article content When Dave Grohl and co. roll into town on their Take Cover World Tour, the City of Edmonton is reminding concertgoers to arrive early and be prepared. Gates are set to open at 4 p.m. and the opening act will hit the stage at 5:30 p.m. The stadium’s clear bag policy will also be in effect, with only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 by 12 by 6 inches and small clutch bags that are not clear, but do not exceed 4.5 by 6.5 inches allowed in. For $25, a limited bag check is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis on the west side of the stadium, near the Gate 5 entrance. Article content Article content Merchandise stands will be open outside the stadium on Thursday from noon until 30 minutes after the show, for those who want to snag a T-shirt but aren’t attending the show or concertgoers who don’t want to take away from valuable time waiting in beer lineups.
