Edmonton police are turning to the public to help identify a person who was in the area of a Whyte Avenue arson back in June.

Officers were contacted by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services regarding a fire that was set on June 25, according to a Thursday news release. Investigators determined two blazes were set at a location in the area of 82 Avenue and Gateway Boulevard between 7:40 and 9:45 p.m., causing extensive damage. No injuries were reported and nearby structures were unscathed.

Police reviewed video footage and zeroed in on a male seen in the area at the time of the fires. Anyone who recognizes the person in the images or has additional video footage from that evening is urged to contact police.
